euChange 1.1 released

euChange IconeuChange is my first Mac OS X application. It’s more an exercise for myself than a very useful program.
But you can convert from DM (Deutsch Mark) to Euro or vice versa. It looks very like Mac OS 10.0. Sure it’s from that time. But it still works with 10.5 on an Intel-Mac. Thank you Rosetta.

euChange ist mein erste Mac OS X Programm. Es ist eigentlich nur ein Programmierübung und kein sonderlich hilfreiches Programm. Aber immerhin rechnet es DM in Euro um und umgekehrt. Ich weiß es sieht stark nach Mac OS X 10.0 aus, aber aus der Zeit stammt es auch. Aber es läuft auch noch mit 10.5 auf einem Intel-Mac.

Popper 1.6 released

Popper IconPopper is a gui for the smbclient. Thats part of every Samba installation on Mac OS X. Probably you don’t heard of that. Samba is responsible for the windows sharing in Mac OS X.

Popper allows to send little instant messages to Windows systems. They pop there up in little message boxes.
In older Windows versions you had to start winpopup.exe, newer like Windows 2000 or XP have it activated by standard.

The configuration of Popper is a little tricky, but it comes with a very detailed help file.

Popper ist eine GUI für smbclient. Das ist ein Teil der Samba-Installation von Mac OS X. Samba ist zuständig für die Windows Dateifreigabe.

Popper erlaubt es kleine Nachrichten an in Windows-System zu senden. Sie erscheinen dort dann in einem kleinen Fenster. Unter älteren Windows-Versionen musste man dazu winpopup.exe starten, bei neueren wie Windows 2000 oder XP ist das automatisch aktiv.

Die Konfiguration von Popper ist ein wenig kompliziert, aber es liegt eine sehr detaillierte Anleitung bei.
